Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed, nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” Luke 17:20-21
Where does the kingdom of God start?
It Starts With You.
Have you ever heard about places where God is working mightily? Where churches are exploding with growth? Where the hungry are being fed? Where orphans are being taken care of? Where a neighbor helps another? Where a ministry reaches thousands? Where a church fills an arena for Easter Sunday? And then thought to yourself “Wow! I want to be part of that!”
Guess what? You can! Because the kingdom of God starts with you!
The kingdom of God is not just in Africa or China. The kingdom of God is not just at some church that is reaching lots of people. The kingdom of God is not something where you can say “Oh, there it is over there…let’s go over to the kingdom!”
The kingdom of God starts in the hearts of followers of Christ!
Do you want to be where God is working? Do you want to see the kingdom of God manifest itself in your marriage, family, neighborhood, community, and church?
That starts with you taking a long hard look in the mirror, getting real with yourself, and then asking God for the courage, boldness, and strength to live out the kingdom of God in your own life.
The kingdom of God is in the midst of you.
